Katherine loves college so much, she’s never been far from campus. In fact, she grew up next door to Michigan State University, where her love for all things stereotypically collegiate - classic brick buildings, game days, fall leaves, and chiming clock towers - began. Her own college career commenced at Johns Hopkins University, where she earned her B.A. in history and art history. Never one to leave campus for long, she earned her Ph.D. in American Studies at Harvard University after a brief hiatus in marketing and consulting.
Since then, Katherine has taught undergraduate art history courses at Harvard and Towson University and worked as an undergraduate admissions officer at her alma mater, Johns Hopkins. There she read thousands of applications and guided students and families from across the U.S. through the highly-selective college admissions process. She’s also worked with educational nonprofits, creating programs to encourage young women from kindergarten through high school to pursue STEM.
Katherine brings this depth and breadth of experience to her work as a college counselor. She knows exactly what colleges are looking for and the skills students need to succeed once they’re there. Katherine loves working with families to dispel the myths surrounding college admissions (there are many!) and uses her firsthand insight to calm college-application jitters and demystify the process.
